Earl Mortimer College rated GOOD by Inspectors
Hailed as a continuing example to the community it serves, Earl Mortimer College is riding the crest of a wave following a second successful inspection.
Principal Adrian Long commented, “More than just another ‘good’ rating by Her Majesty’s Inspectors, (Ofsted), this is a human story. The pride of the town has received a real boost by this. I believe it marks continued recognition of the work we started back when the brand new College opened in 2010. This is exactly the good news that Leominster and North Herefordshire needs”.
Vice Principal, Diane Blackmore observed what she believes helps the College to maintain its Good rating. “We have a team of incredibly proud and talented teachers working with our determined young learners and their enthusiastic families”.
Vice Principal, Phil South added, “When you match sheer determination with the ambition of our students, there is no holding them back”!
Assistant Principal, Julian Wharam applauds the College’s local connections. “None of us take the massive investment of £22million in our community for granted. EMC remains a community controlled school, not part of an academy chain based in some far-off city. We keep it looking like new and the students get that”.
Head Boy Nathan Fletcher and Head Girl Phoebe Spencer are already looking to the future. “It’s great that the inspectors recognise that the hard work is paying off. Who knows, in the future the College might reach Outstanding”.
