Promoting Entrepreneurship in Herefordshire
This November sees an opportunity for Herefordshire businesses to celebrate and take advantage of the entrepreneurial culture that exists across the county.
Herefordshire Council will be promoting Global Entrepreneurship Week, the world's largest campaign to encourage entrepreneurship.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life and drives economic growth. Locally a number of activities are planned to inspire people to start their own business, find what support is available, and to consider how their business may be able to innovate.
The council has been actively encouraging local businesses and organisations to host an event or an activity during the week of 16 to 22 November which will encourage entrepreneurship and collaboration between business.
There are 11 events already planned, to be hosted by various organisations and businesses including Qinetic, Wolverhampton University, Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce and HSBC. The events cover a broad range of subject matter including business Start Up, Digital Marketing, Innovation In Defence Technology, and a Business Support Showcase. Many of these events will be hosted at the new Hereford Growth Hub on the Hereford Enterprise Zone.
Cllr Graham Powell, cabinet member Economy and Corporate services said, "Global Entrepreneurship Week is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to showcase their products, services and achievements, to learn new innovative practices and discover what support is available.
We are really encouraged to see a number of events already confirmed, and would encourage businesses to take a look at the fantastic calendar of events and book themselves on to those that are of interest to them."
