Prince of Wales's charity brings its BRICK Roadshow to Leominster

Heritage experts from The Prince's Regeneration Trust (PRT) are bringing their UK-wide regeneration roadshow to Leominster to help communities in Herefordshire and the West Midlands save the buildings they love.

The UK's leading regeneration charity will be hosting its very first BRICK workshop in Herefordshire at Grange Court, Pinsley Road, Leominster HR6 8NL on Tuesday 9th May from 9:30am Ė 4:30pm.

Experts will be on hand to provide advice and support to community groups and not-for-profit organisations involved in heritage-led regeneration projects in Herefordshire and across the West Midlands.

Workshop topics include preparing your case for funding, community engagement, determining the building's new design and use, governance and project management. There will be the opportunity to share useful case studies of best practice from Grange Court, Hartlebury Castle in Kidderminster and St.Mary de Crypt in Gloucester. Delegates will also benefit from a valuable Q&A with the experts during the day.

Currently 71 buildings are 'at risk' in Herefordshire, according to Historic England's 2016 Heritage at Risk Register. The interest and passion these buildings create means there is a growing demand for specialist help and support in saving local and important buildings from decay and dereliction and giving them a sustainable new use.

Laura Norris, Programme Director of BRICK , The Prince's Regeneration Trust, said:

"Community groups play a pivotal role in taking on the revival of these important local assets and there is an urgent need to equip them with the right skills to do so.

I would encourage all community groups interested in a heritage regeneration project to attend. This is a great opportunity to learn from experts, network with other similar organisations and be inspired to move your vision forward."

The BRICK programme has been made possible through major grant funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and contributions from the Alan Baxter Foundation, Purcell and British Land.
