Dedication of First World War Commemorative Woodland
Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum, Dinmore Hill
A special event to dedicate an area of woodland at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum as a memorial to the First World War.
On Saturday 29th June 2019 at 1.00pm, the First World War Commemorative Woodland at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum will be dedicated by The Reverend Paul Roberts CF and Rt Reverend Richard Frith, Bishop of Hereford in the presence of the Dowager Countess of Darnley, CVO., JP, the Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Her Majesty The Queen’s personal representative in the county. The dedication will be part of wider events taking place throughout the County as part of Armed Forces Day.
The dedication ceremony will begin at 13:15 in the First World War Commemorative Woodland area at Queenswood. Please arrive within this area between 13:00-13:15. It is a short walk from the main car parks at Queenswood.
Free parking and a complimentary shuttle bus will be available between 12pm and 3pm at Wellington Home and Gardens (HR4 8BB), 2.2 miles from Queenswood towards Hereford on the A49. With regards to dog walkers attending the event, we will on this occasion accept dogs to travel on the coaches for the event.
Normal parking charges will apply in the car parks at Queenswood.
